Purifying Nature's Water |
Water Treatment When we moved into our house eighteen years ago, we bought a salt ion exchange water conditioner to remove the 26 grain hardness in our well water. We were happy with the computerized equipment for about 10 years when my body started retaining water from the ingested salt. When I realized this, I disconnected the unit and started investigating alternative means of combating the problem. I finally settled on magnetic water conditioning. I found that the water passing through a magnetic field would cause the minerals in it to repel each other and surfaces that they come in contact with. I joined a multilevel marketing group to learn what they had to teach; didn’t take long. I don’t believe that I bought a set of their magnets. They sold two (ceramic, the weakest made) magnets to go on the incoming water line and one after the water heater. The enemies of magnetics are inactivity, heat and turbulence; all in a water heater, especially at night. I then located a wholesaler of generic ceramic magnets which cut out the guys in the multilevel. I decided that because in my house it took so long to get hot water to my bathroom, I needed smaller magnets at each point of hot and cold use, with a very strong one on the shower pipe. I could sell a two bath home a setup that would almost equal the salt ion conditioner in effectiveness; the only problems were the bottom of the toilet bowls. 12/2007 About nine months ago I found Mag-Tek Fluid Conditioners, that offers neodymium, the strongest of common magnets, which doesn’t go on the outside of the water line, but into the water line and it is cleaning our toilet bowls. This one magnet is the same cost as the bunch of ceramic magnets I was using. I have decided, yesterday, that I am going to put a smaller Mag-Tek Fluid Conditioner in the hot water line just before the kitchen, half way to my bath, to give the hot water a boost. Even at that, the system will be cheaper initially than a salt ion conditioner and considerably healthier with no operating cost or maintenance. also see Magnets |
